Sky planet I is an affordable touch screen phone with a heavy built and dual SIM card mobile. It has 3.2 inch touch screen and below it have four keys for calling, home, contacts and back. It also has a trackball in between the shortcut keys for better navigation.
A normal press on the trackball will take you to the menu whereas the left, right, up and down presses will direct you to user profile, tone set up, music and alarm respectively. The top panel has a 3.5mm multi purpose jack and a mini pin charging slot and the left panel sports a USB charging slot.
The touch screen also has three soft keys for accessing menu, dialer and contacts. However, the touch response of the touch screen was just average, as we had to press a little hard at times.
The touch screen key pad gives several options of input method and you can use any out of QWERTY, alphanumeric, and numeric as per you convenience. It also has a hand writing recognition feature.
The device comes with a number of pre-loaded social networking applications like Snaptu and Nimbuz offer an integrated social networking and instant messaging experience. You can also access Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Yahoo!, various news sites and many more. The phone comes with Opera mini Browser for accessing the internet. The WiFi connectivity of the SKY Planet I is also appreciable as it got connected with in a minute.
The phone also possesses a motion sensor and you can user it to flip between radio channels, wallpapers, turning the phone to silent the ring and motion gaming. The sound quality of the FM Radio is good but there is significant distortion on loud speaker. FM recording is also available and there’s a pre loaded application for scheduled FM Recording .
The phone supports touch screen hand writing recognition. Back panel of the phone also has a camera and a speaker grill at the tip of the right corner. The 2.0 mega pixel camera has a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels and you can set the image quality to normal. The flash is used to take pictures in night also. The flash is also used for torch with long pressing of trackball.
The company is also provided an option of mobile TV, and the telescopic antenna catches terrestrial signals. The phone supports Two GSM SIMS with dual standby.
The phone has big 1200 mAh Li-ion battery and the memory could be extended up to 8 GB through micro SD card. The mobile phone size is 103.8 x 57.6 x 11.5mm and 90 grams of weight.
